FAIR PLAY

• Real sightings only: only scan plates you see in person. Scanning screens, magazines, or internet photos is against the spirit of the game.
• One account: your collection must be your own. Using multiple accounts to climb the leaderboard or "test" scans is not allowed.
• No account sharing: don't share your login with others to "pool" sightings. Every scan in your collection should be a plate you spotted yourself.
• No botting: Plate Pursuit is for humans. Using automated scripts, bots, or any outside software to scan plates or interact with the app is strictly prohibited.

SAFETY FIRST

• Eyes on the road: never use the app while driving. If you're behind the wheel, your focus belongs on the traffic, not the plates.
• Be aware of your surroundings: don't step into traffic or put yourself in danger just to get a scan.

RESPECT AND PRIVACY

• Focus on the plate: your image is automatically cropped to the plate before text recognition. However, be respectful and try to frame only the license plate. Avoid including faces of drivers, passengers, or pedestrians in your scans.
• Respect private property: don't enter private driveways or restricted areas to find rare numbers.

Base Points

Points decay linearly within each tier: every digit counts. Within the same tier, lower numbers always reward more points.

Canton Multipliers

Swiss plates earn a multiplier based on the canton: the more vehicles registered, the higher the multiplier.

If your plate number matches a special pattern, a multiplier is applied to its base score. Only the highest matching multiplier applies.
